Introducing our Amazing Active Committee 2023/2024!
Active Committee
Our active committee is made up of 18 students, from 1st to 6th class, and 3 teachers.
Our active committee was chosen at the beginning of the year. Anyone who was interested in joining the committee had to fill out an application form and then our active committee teachers went through the application forms to choose the children who we thought would be the most dedicated and hard-working. We are lucky to have found such helpful committee members.
Our active leaders have many responsibilities, including delivering and collecting up equipment for active yard, organising the music for Funky Friday, tidying the PE equipment, teaching playground games to the younger classes and updating the school on all things active at our weekly assemblies.
Some of the ideas our active committee have shared at meetings have included; introducing a school rugby team, having children do exercises in their lines at the start of the day, a 10-minute school workout called out over the intercom each day, having a school basketball tournament, having each class do the Daily Mile for 10 minutes, giving extra yard time as a reward, adding more skipping ropes and having extra PE time. They also had the great idea to make sure that each class takes an active break after lunchtime on the days when we have to stay inside for yard.
